As Internet becomes a convenience and cost effective media for conducting business operations, almost every company nowadays is using email and Internet everyday. However, it also becomes a very effective media for virus distribution.

The Fact

Imagine everytime when you surf the web, you are exposing your computer, completely naked for virus attacks. Unfortunately if your computer has been infected by computer virus, the virus will replicate itself and corrupt all your valuable data.

A lot of anti-virus software nowadays claim that they can clean the virus infected files. However, there is no such thing of "cleaning" a virus and what they do is actually overwriting the infected part of your documents. The only way is try your best to get rid of computer virus and this can be done by installing anti-virus gateway which will screen all emails and Internet traffic before sending to the users.

EICAR

To test whether your system is armed with a capable anti-virus software for both email and Internet, you can send a testing virus (EICAR) to the designated emaill address or download it using your browser. If you succssfully receive the file, that mean your machine is open for virus attack. Please contact your system administrator or contact us to purchase an anti-virus gateway system.

Please note that the EICAR is not a real virus, it gives no harm. It works because it is treated as a virus by all anti-virus softwares.
